MUSE Drones Tour 2015

This will be some sort of malas post.

I went to Muse concert on 26th September 2016.
And it was super awesome! Kind of one of my wishlist since I started listen to the band around 2004/2005.

The troop

It was my first time in Singapore too. So wandering around town is obligatory.

Before they get famous

When Malaysian talent step up their game, this happens.

I've been putting this song on repeat for the past  3 weeks, after my housemate suggested me to look up for their video on Youtube.

I have never liked a Malaysian group this much in my adult life. (^_^)

"Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rule, and build a life you're proud to live"

Best of luck girls!

Vertical Horizon LIVE in KL

It's been a while I haven't been to a concert/showcase.
So last Tuesday I went to Vertical Horizon's concert. Well they haven't had a boom song since the past like what 10 years? Hence the small venue and the cheap tix.

What made the show interesting is the lead singe Matt Scannel was a great entertainer.
He always had something funny to say in between songs. And the crowd is not so massive which is not really a good thing for the organizer but a good thing for me since I can enjoy the concert without having to brush other people's shoulder everytime a took a step. And you can still feel the aircond. It's a little hard being a person who hates crowd and sweat but still want to go to concerts.heh.

So good environment. Checked. Good songs. Checked. Good entertainer. Checked.Checked.:)

I liked it because they allow the fans to sing a whole verse of the chorus and then they start singing it back from the start.
Some artist just let the fans sing their popular song from start and they just sing tiny bit of it, well we don't pay ticket to hear ourself singing rite? So yea glad they didn't do that. Haha

By the end they perform their 3 hits songs Best I Ever Had, Everything You Want and after teasingly ending the concert by running to the back stage abruptly, they came back and finish it off with You're A God.

When the crowd start singing 'So you sailed away...' in unison, I immediately flew back to my younger years - good part of it. Don't have specific memories but just the feeling made me..well happy.(^_^)

Opening act by OAG - also quite entertaining. You know Radhi being well, Radhi. Hehe. By the time they end their segment with 60's TV, everybody went crazy.

So I got a tag and a T-Shirt and I continue life as usual the next day. Hehe

It's the angels again!

Last year they lip sync to Adam Levine's 'Move Like Jagger', this year, it's Bieber's 'Beauty and a Beat'

Well, don't bother Bieber and his song, concentrate on the Angels:P

I LOVE them!

And Behati, is so damn cute!

Okay replay video.

Chasing the Sun

Did any of you guys catch the EPL 2012/2013 season promo on Astro recently? The promo appears constantly in between Euro matches just to remind us that the new season is coming soon. Very soon. I couldn't find the video anywhere in Youtube.
Argh..just finish the EUROs already!!
I literally ached waiting for the new EPL season to start.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention, I'm very much into the theme song of the promo, Chasing the Sun by The Wanted. Keep repeating it over and over again this few days.

But I kinda felt a bit frustrated when I googled the singers. It's a British boyband. Yes a boyband. I think it's been centuries since I heard about a boyband. Since The Backstreets Boys and N'SYNC era.
I was hoping the singer was Train kind of band, you know..
Oh and Train was in town last Saturday. Didn't got a chance/time/money to go.. Why can't they wait for my paycheck before coming here..?

Why..T_T..

Okey distracted. Back to the topic. What was that again? oh The Wanted. So apparently, this band consists of 5 guys..or boys..
One of them is 19, that make me felt kinda pedo-ish..T_T but don't worry I like the bald one. And he's 23.=P

Max George

Cue: Jason Statham, Freddie Ljungberg and Wentworth Miller..:P:P

Looks nice at the beginning but not so much at the end. Can we stop this vampire shit already @_@

But all and all I LOVE the song, kinda injected your spirits way up. The band, not so much, maybe a little cause they are British. Gotta love the accents.=P
I still wish I could find the EPL promo with this song as the theme though.

So that's for now. I got my ITP presentation tomorrow, still got slides to prepare.
Till next time. Goodnight~ (^_^)

Vokal Bukan Sekadar Rupa - Really??

I'm bored tonight so I turned on TV3.

I never watch the show before, to be honest, I rarely watch TV in campus. I watch them  only when I went home, when my mom isn't watching CSI or anything on Diva Channel, or my dad is not watching the news or us siblings didn't have anything else on Sports Channels to watch.=P

Okay back to this Vokal Bukan Sekadar Rupa,
I know about the show because one of the contestant Mafa is in it. She's an MMU student. She always involve in singing events here around campus. And she got quite a following in campus as well as in her Youtube channel. And when she joined the show, I think its about time.

Mafa in mustard blazer and Asmidar(middle) with another contestant.

Back to tonight show, Mafa is up against another contestant Asmidar. I know nothing about Asmidar. But from watching tonight show, Asmidar can sing and her voice is beautiful, but she is too common. She is the type we always see in local reality singing show. There's already plenty of female artist in Malaysia that are just like her.

Mafa is something different. She's a not a typical singer we usually see. She plays the guitar and I used to see her sing one of her own songs in one of the events in campus and her own song is very good. She has exceptional talent and I really thought at least the composer Azmeer or Erra will get her type of singing, but to my surprise they are not. All three judges are obviously rooting for Asmidar.

Even Faizal Tahir was rooting for Asmidar. Okay my interest in Faizal Tahir is declining for this time being.

I'll list out their songs tonight:

Round 1 - Contestant's choice
Asmidar - I missed her part
Mafa - Jangan Tinggal Daku P Ramlee
Judges rates: Asmidar 1 - Mafa 2

I think: Spot on.
She managed to sing P.Ramlee song and turned it into a jazz number, it's remarkable.

Round 2 - New songs
Asmidar - Ajai's ballad song
Mafa - Audi Mok's fast track
Judges rates: Asmidar 3 - Mafa 0

I think - Come on, we've heard this type of Ajai's song way too many times already. Audi Mok's song, is kinda catchy but that type of song requires you to hear it  few times before you like it.
Mafa was just unlucky on this round.

Round 3 - Battle round
Each contestant pick a song and challenge the other to sing the same song. And judges picks whos better at each song.
Asmidar - Laksamana something by M daud Kilau
Mafa - Hurt by Christina Aguilera
Judges rates: Asmidar 3 - Mafa 0 (the eff..??!!)

I think - Mafa sings the traditional song surprisingly well given her area of expertise, maybe not as good as Asmidar's but close. Asmidar on the other hand, is far far from singing Hurt as good as Mafa's, she made the song sounded different. I don't know what aspect the judges see. But after all, they're the 'expert' so, I got nothing more to say.

The big picture I see is, this tv show is for local crowd (I mean the same crowd who watch every other local reality singing show to be exact) and these voters love the type of singer like Asmidar. Mafa is not the singer local crowd normally liked.

I remember the first concert where she aced the Adele's Rolling in the Deep on the first show. That was brilliant.

Like a friend of mine said, Mafa doesn't need to win the competition like this, she just need the exposure. Once people know her, she'll have great opportunity awaits  her in the future.

And if I think about it again, I'm glad she didn't win. She's way better than just a competition. I wish her luck in her future.

Come as you are Yuna cover

I just found out about this video and I think it is hauntingly....beautiful.

And I honestly love her in person.
I'm not into that kind of music to be honest but her work is indeed beautiful.
Cinta Sempurna is still one of the best song I've heard in my life.

I remember the first time I saw her performed in one of MMU event few years ago before she went mainstream and become known all over Malaysia.

And she definitely got style...

That jumpsuit is damn cool. I wonder who's the designer.

Gorgeous.

Okay I have been procrastinating all day..I'll get back to work.

Need You

My current obsession, I mean since few months ago and prolly for the next few months or so..
Just can't get enough of the song for now..

I hate the video though.

Sorry Travie.. You're awesome, but you look like you have noodles on the back of your head.
And for all I know, the Chinese acrobats have no business whatsoever doing on that video...=.=

Cair...

Usually, I don't quite pay attention to male singers if they're not tall.
Hehehe.. how unfair..
but this guy manage to steal my attention
especially with this song..

He said to the NY Daily News
"In my mind, I'm 6-3. But I'm 5-5. Do me a favor: Say I'm 5-6"

With this voice..who cares if he's 5'1..

The Resistance

Saya tunggu macam nak gila album ni. Tapi frust je. Tak sebest album2 lama. Takde satu yang jadi killer song. Semua average. Lebih kurang je bunyik. Tapi taktaulah. Mungkin kena dengar beratus kali baru jatuh cinta kut..

Atau mungkin tajuk dia kena tukar ke The Capacitance atau The Inductance baru best kot.

hmm..bilala dorang nak datang Mesia lagi nih..

Lullabies

*Switching to supergirl mode

I'm currently addicted to Angel by Natasha Beddingfield, Say All I Need by One Republic and Miss Independent by NeYo.

I don't know why, but I love the fact that in this song the girl is the one who'd love to protect her man. This doesn't necessarily means that the man is weak or something. It's just, you know sometimes even guys have their bad moment. So here comes the super girl always there to protect the guy. Hahaha.. sounds funny, but that's really inspiring for me.

Miss Independent is still about a supergirl, an independent girl that can survive by her own and doesn't need any help from her man. Sometimes guys, their ego will rise up high when they know we can't survive without their help. Lets prove em wrong girls.

I'm loving NeYo this year. His song were all fabulous. I still love Closer and Hate that I love You is still the sweetest love song I've ever heard. And Say.. say no more, is one of One Republic's brilliant song. Everybody knows it. I just love the music.

*Switch off supergirl mode.

Obsession

Disclaimer: Before you read this, make sure you are a BIG time MUSE fan, if not quit reading or you'll waste your time for nothing.

I want to post this earlier but i've been busy, so today i did since i've got a chance. Who ever missed the MUSE performance in Malaysia, make sure you got their DVD HAARP: live at Wembley that has just released recently. Not quite recently, March i think. The concert was held in June 2007.

H.A.A.R.P. stands for High Frequency Active Aural Research Program

I'm not a concert type of person so even though i like some band i don't mind if missed their concert or anything but this band, i think i'll still be frustrated in few years time for not going to their concert last year. Actually its not even a concert, its just a tour, but hey, i've been waiting for them to come here since forever and when they did come,i didn't go. This is the only band i can say, i love each and every one of their song.

The concert starts with all three of them appeared in the middle of the stadium, Matt with his dazzling red suits, Dom with bright green pants and Christ in all white, they were sort of catwalk to the stage decorated with giant satellite dishes, futuristic antennas, massive glowing balloons and thousands of dazzling lights, before start kicking asses with the awesome opening "Knights of Cydonia".

There’s no high point of this concert for me because the high point is everywhere, i love the opening, Knights of Cydonia, Hysteria, Supermassive Blackhole, Maps of Problematique, Apocalypse Please, Invincible, the next thing that impressed me was when Matt takes a rest from being the world’s greatest guitar player and settles down at a piano, and plays the Nina Simone cover "Feeling Good". The performance of two acrobats on the hanging balloons during Blackout, that was breathtakingly amazing, Matt himself said hat he was mesmerized by the whole atmosphere, and Plugin Baby of course, never fails to make my heart pumps hearing the solo by Matt, almost every songs manage to make the crowd respond hysterically.

Dom rockin'

Matt makin love with his guitar.
I don't have Chris pic, i don't have proper picture actually..
I remember someone said that MUSE was not good at live performance, seeing MUSE pulling off a gig this big, as energetic and rock almost 70 000 people, they did more than prove to me.

One comment i read said this:
"It’s hard to not be amazed by the entire concert. Even without the pyrotechnics and monstrous backdrop, Bellamy is simply a master at everything he does. Play piano? Check. Shred like Eddie Van Halen? Check. Sing higher than most girls I know? Check. And even more impressive, the man writes solid songs with riffs that stand up against the best out there. It’s almost impossible to not be a fan of Muse (or at least respect the musicianship in the band) ."

But there’s also bad comments:
"The price of the food on offer though as it appeared that the pies must have been made out of gold and filled with angels tears at £4.50 a pop."

Apart from that, they were unbelievably awesome. MUSE..please come back to Malaysia, before i'm getting sagging old and my ear cant stand hearing loud music that have decibel range more than my grandchildren's cries or my husband's nagging......

The Songs played:
Knights Of Cydonia
Hysteria
Supermassive Blackhole
Map Of The Problematique
Butterflies & Hurricanes
Hoodoo
Apocalypse Please
Feeling Good
Invincible
Starlight
Time Is Running Out
Newborn
Soldiers Poem
Unintended
Blackout
Plug In Baby
Micro Cuts
Stockholm Syndrome
Take A Bow
