I was tagged by Lynn a few weeks ago. I've been very busy last few weeks plus with no computer and all. So, here it goes...

3) Why do you like that picture?
. It's a candid and it's natural. I've never had a picture from that angle before. And.. never in a million years I ever thought that I have a jawline and a dagu. Hahaha.. people have been telling me that I have a round tembam face for as long as I can remember. And I didn't denied it either, but this pic prove me wrong. I just noticed currently that all my recent photos showed my jawline. Which I never seen before. So that's what I like about this picture. Haha.

4) When was the last time you ate pizza?
. Can't recall. Probably last 6 months when Dila got dean's list again and blanja all of us Pizza at Alamanda. Hehe.

6) What are you doing right now besides this?
. Looking at extra notes uploaded by Mr Mahendra last few weeks. He's been complaining no students ever read it or even know it exist. Hahaha.

Am I exaggerating here? hehe..

my life's update

I particularly love this semester for 2 reasons.

1. First, this semester we dig deeper into our major.
   
2. Secondly, I have girlfriends!
   

For the first reason, both subjects we took this semester, Power System Analysis and Power Transmission are everything about Electrical majoring. For the first time in MMU, i felt like I'm really studying to be an engineer. We exactly know why we learn that subjects for.

Second reason, because both subjects subjects are electrical major, the girls in our batch Me,Gaya, Azu, Net and Joyce are suddenly bonded and we pretty much go everywhere together and spent a lot of time together doing lab reports,tutorials and assignments. Since the number of electrical students this batch is just around 30 something, the formation of five of us are quite noticeable.
I don't know about them but for me. It really improve me a lot, psychologically and academic wise. Its been so long since i have a group of girl friends. I had them last when I'm in standard 5 and 6. So its been 10 years! I'm so grateful. I'm suddenly thrilled again to go to class everyday and finished this whole thing with good grades.

Really at some point I felt fed up studying when the tense of assignments and exams kicked in, or in horrible PMS days.. even worst if i failed some papers. All I can think was to just finished the whole thing fast without even care what my grade will be. Since engineering is really though and I'm a girl..doing the course..alone with no close friends in the same major. But you never know what a dose of estrogen can do to you.

I do have friends before, but its not in a big group, all girls. Mostly GUYS. Its not the same having guy friends and girl friends. And knowing the fact that we will be together for another two years, make me feel even more grateful. I know there must be girl fights along the way. but that's normal and I'm ready to face it. I just need their company through my studying years and know i can see bright light ahead of me. If one of you read this, I just want to say thanks a lot girls.. You guys are my sunshine..=)

New Barbie Movieee

I never had the chance to watch it since I have no pc. But I've watched diamond castle. It was so nice.


There's still part of me that wants barbie as a birthday present, or part of me that plan when I have my own salary, I want to have all barbie collections. Hehe. Because I am the only girl in 4 siblings, so a barbie is not an option when our parents want to buy us something. I once got a barbie as a present from my dad's foster family from Japan. But when you have brothers, you either got teased by them or they wont play along with you if you're playing with dolls. And I don't have girl cousins of my age so I played barbie alone for few weeks and left them under my bed before joining my brothers with their Hotweels, Dash Yankuro or playing roller blades and bikes. Now that I've grown up, I dont care, I will get those dolls no matter what. =P=P

Assignment submitted!

This morning I woke up with a happy face after 2 sleepless nights. I thought I'd sleep until noon but I woke up at 10am. I feel my head, no dizziness- signs that I've enough sleep. So I rolled over on my bed berangan and thinking of what to do today before start preparing for final exam tomorrow. I decided to blog. So after doing my laundry and have lunch with Azu, I switched on Jen's pc to do what I planned.


Honestly, I'm satisfied with my presentation yesterday's morning. Luckily Mrs. Normiza was in good mood that day. She didn't bombard us with questions. She just pointed out little things that we overlooked. Basically the assignment was about a transmission system in a city. We, as a planning engineer for an electric company have to identify several contingency violations and problems that caused it and make few recommendations for the best transmission system addition so that no more violations occur complete with the cost for the system that we recommended.
That was the first part, the second part is all about ensuring the transmission line and the transformer's circuit breaker ratings are sufficient to interrupt the fault current due to any type of fault. 3 phase fault, line to ground fault, line to line fault or double line to ground fault.

For this assignment we use Power World Simulator software which of course we're not familiar with at first. Even the assignment itself we have no idea what it is all about. I really want to start the assignment earlier so we can identify the problems earlier and clear any doubts with the lecturer since I already knew the lecturer herself was quite strict but this short sem, with labs midterm and all plus Mahendra's tutorial to submit, we only managed to start a week before the presentation day. We have to do the tutorial in a group of three. So all 5 of us, Me, Gaya, Azu Joyce and Net had planned to work on it together and divide in 2 groups. Gaya,Net and Joyce, Me and Azu and we pull Hadi in since he doesn't have any group yet.
For the presentation we were divided to two sessions. Some of the group was lucky they have to present it to Mr.Naeem which a lot less stress while both of our group have to present with Mrs.Normiza. With her, every detail has to be taken care of.

At first the problem was to understand the question itself before second problem which is familiarizing with the software. It's quite hard because most of the seniors have already forgotten the assignment which they did last year. But we managed to do it with Mr Naeem's guides and also after consulting Mrs Normiza and the help from the groups who had presented to Mr Naeem 3 days earlier. But we're not satisfied with their explanation because it was too simple. We knew it because with Mr Naeem, little things can be skipped. But that’s not the case with Mrs. Normiza. So we ended up come with our own solutions that differ from most of the groups. Both for case 1 and case two.

The presentation went less troublesome than I expected. Like I said, she just pointed out few things that we missed. Not asking the significance of doing this and that. 15 minutes went so fast compared to few days of struggling doing the assignment. And all three of us were so relieved. One huge burden had gone. But we still have Mahendra's tutorial to submit on that evening. So again, we camped at the library. Joyce Gaya and Net joined us later on after their presentation. Azu and Net had submitted earlier since they were going home for holiday while me, Gaya and Joyce stayed until 9pm at the library before submitting the tutorial to Mahendra's office.

That's the time when we can really2 feel sooo relieved and exhausted at the same time. After Gaya went home, me and Joyce decided to have carbonara for our dinner since we're extremely hungry. And carbonara never tastes so good. =P=P We even have rooms for roasted chicken black pepper after that. Which later on make my stomach aches. Assignments and all really make us fat. After loaded we both go home. I decided to have a shower first but fall asleep with towel on. It's already 4am when I woke up and continued what I supposed to do earlier. I went back to bed after Subuh. Today is blogging day, Sunday the work starts again.

Of vampire stories

I know it’s quite late for me to review this movie but I HAVE to put Robert Pattinson's pic in my blog..hehe.


Basically, the movie was so-so, I was disappointed actually. But it was my fault. I'm not that interested at first even my roommate Jen was talking about it non stop for the whole week. I have no idea what the movie is all about. It was when I saw the trailer on tv that I was kind of intrigued to see it,

And what made me interested?

• First, the part where the hero was trying to stop a van with his bare hand,
• And second, the fact that the hero is Cedric Diggory. The handsome and talented young wizard who died in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire’.

I straightly think that this is an action movie. Even when Jen told me it is a vampire-human love story, I still have in mind that it is an action packed vampire-human love story. My expectation was sky high. It's definitely my fault that I'm disappointed because it is NOT action packed at all. The only good things about the movie were Robert Pattinson himself, the part where the family played baseball with Supermassive Blackhole as the background song and part when both Edward and Bella were on the trees because the view was breathtaking. Apart from that, didn't impress me at all.

I had already read the novel a little, Jen told me to read so that I have an idea before we watch it, and I realized even the beginning is not that similar to the movie. And she told me that like 40% of the story in the novel had been altered.

For me, some novels are not meant to be translated into movie. In novel people wants to read and dwells in emotions, but in movies people want to be impressed with what they see. Twilight is a love story. It involves a lot of romantic conversations, love notes and imaginations. In movies, long conversation will make us bored. People want to see movements, the actions.

Talking about the novel, I've read one novel about vampire before this. It was Single White Vampire by Lyndsay Sands. For me Twilight is better in terms of storyline but the characteristic of the vampire itself, I prefer Single White Vampire.

In both novels, Edward and Lucern are portrayed as

• Darn good looking
• Dark haired
• Pale skin
• Age few hundred years
• Allergy to the sun
• Didn't eat human food
• Can read/control other people's mind, but not the one they loved.

In SWV, Lucern mom told him if he can't read a girl's mind that’s the sign that she's the one for him. In Twilight, obviously Edward can't read Bella's mind.

The differences are

1.Blood-sucking criteria

• Twilight -Edward's family didn't drink human blood. They only rely on animal blood.
• SWV - They did rely on human blood but within limit. Lucern's dad was a doctor and their family owns a blood bank which is where they got the supply of human blood

I prefer - SWV.
Come on, they're vampire, it’s in their nature to rely on humans blood, the fact that the writer’s trying to make them look good by living on animal bloods was unnecessary to me. Vampire is naturally bad. Let them be. It's like trying to make human not to eat but only drink. It’s a lot worse than vegetarians. They supposed to be tortured by that.

2.Exposure to sunlight

• Edward and family live in the cloudiest city in the world and still can go to school every day and turn to a glittery creature under the sunlight.
• Lucern family didn't go out that much in daylight. If they have to, they cover up the whole body, just stayed in the car and avoid sunlight as much as they can. Lucern is a writer and he works from home. Same as his brother that work as a video game creator.

I prefer - SWV
Even in cloudiest city there must be sunlight. And I never heard a vampire turns to a beautiful creature in sunlight. Originally, sunlight supposed to give bad effect to vampires.

3.Sleeping at night

• Edward didn't sleep at all.
• Lucern sleeps during the day

I prefer - SWV

Come on, sleep is great. Pity you can't sleep Edward.=P

4.The lover

• Bella is fragile human beings that have to be taken good care of.
• Kate is an independent career woman

5.Immortality

• Edward and his family are immortal
• Lucern and family CAN actually die but they have stronger body immune that can make them heal faster and live way longer than average human.

I prefer - SWV
It's more realistic.

But as I said, from the story line aspect, I love Twilight better. The love story of a girl and a boy of different background and the struggle to save her from his threats is kinda appealing than a story of a writer and his editor which the obstacle of their love for him is just to avoid people noticing and to convince her to live long lives with him, while for her is just to make choice between career, family or living long lives with him. At the end both Kate and Bella are turned into vampire.

So total tally : SWV - 5 Twilight - 1




I hope the next movies New Moon,Eclipse and Breaking Dawn will be better. I'm pretty sure they'll be way better. Optimist. =)=)
