On the 21st morning, I saw her water broke. But she had a complication when the first two babies came out feet first. As bad as it sounds, it got even worse when the babies head got stuck for quite a while. I don't dare to try to pull them out cos I'm afraid I might make it worst. But both babies was not breathing when they eventually came out, even after I tore the placenta off their face.
By the time the second one came out it was about 9.30 and I told Chaoi we gotta bring Janja to vet so that they can help her incase the remaining babies came out feet first again.
So we brought her to the clinic and as soon as we're in the vet's room, another foot came out. So the vet help to pull the baby out of her womb and Alhamdulillah it cries.
And when it cries, Janja's instinct kicked in and she went and nurse her baby. Even try to tear off its umbilical cord. (Though she failed, vet end up helping her cut it.)
That happened to be her last kitten, so we took them both home.
The first day was daunting cos we're trying to make sure the baby was suckling. And thank God this time the baby did. Me and Chaoi checked on them every 2 hours to make sure the baby is suckling. We even woke up during the night as well to check on them.
Cos we know how important mama's milk at least on the first day.
So when Day 2 come, we had a huge relief. Now its just the matter of hoping and making sure the baby survived day by day.
We weigh the kitten's everyday to monitor his growth. Janja is doing a great job as a mom and now the little boy is already 7 days old.
Alhamdulillah. Super grateful.
Here are some of the picture we took on every weighing sessions. The first day he was a mere 105g baby.
He hit 200g yesterday and today he's 217g.
2nd day vs 7th day
There's not much to see at this age, he's just a tiny milk monster who sleeps 90% of the time, wakes up for mama's milk and goes potty. (also mama's job actually)
But at 7 days the milestone are the ears already started to go up and the eyes should start to open anytime soon.
We're counting hours to see that eyeball now.
Will post more update of this little guy from time to time. InsyaAllah.
